The wait is almost over.
The greatest domestic bike series in the World is ready to return. This weekend (March 31 – April 2) The 2017 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship will get underway at Donington park.
So, what should we expect? Well, fast, fast and faster pretty much sums it up. Breathless, exciting and breathless again. These bikes average more than 180bhp, go close up towards 200 mph, and can get a whole crowd to ponder, “did that just really happen?”
The season itself is pretty hard to call. This year the grid will feature 2014 World Superbike Champion Sylvain Guintoli, five-time MCE BSB title-winner Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne, 2015 chapion Josh Brookes and Proskins ambassador Leon Haslam who finished last season runner up to Byrne, with the title decided at the last race of the season.
It really could be one of the closest seasons ever. Good luck to Leon and all the riders in this year’s championship.
