Congratulations on a wheelie good start to the 2017 BSB Season for Leon Haslam
An electrifying and perfect start to the 2017 British Superbike Championship for Leon Haslam, fastest in qualifying, winning both races and setting the fastest lap on his home track.
“To win at my home round at Donington and to get a 1-2 for the team is superb, it couldn’t have gone any better and thanks to all the boys for the effort.
In the first race I knew that James Ellison had opted for the soft compound rear tyre so it was only going to be a matter of time before his tyre dropped off so I just tried to keep a good rhythm and consistent lap times and then make a move in the later stages, thankfully it all went to plan.
In the second race I was again confident of running the lap times I needed but then made a mistake and lost time to Josh Brookes. I had to push a bit harder
than I wanted too but it worked out in the end.
Last year was a bit of a learning curve for me in BSB with the Kawasaki but we can now go to each round and know what to expect.” - Leon Haslam
This all means that Leon is leading the championship as we head off to Brands Hatch in a couple of week's time for round2 - 15th - 17th April
